What is PRP?
PRP is an abbreviation for Platelet Rich Plasma. PRP is a blood plasma that has been enriched with platelets.
How is PRP Created?
A small amount of blood is drawn for the patient and then spun at a very high speed in a centrifuge. The red blood cells are discarded and the yellow serum is what remains. This yellow serum is the plasma, which contains the growth factors.
How Is The Procedure Performed?
The PRP is injected in to the face, just beneath the skin. Over a period of time, you will notice a 10-15% increase in the volume of your face. It takes approximately eight weeks to see the results which can last for a few years. Added benefits include reducing pore sizes, helping with blemishes and giving you overall healthier looking skin.
As part of this procedure, fillers are often used in the cheeks and lower eyes to help with wrinkles that may be present. Combining the filler with PRP treatment can really help improve your appearance and give you a more youthful look.
This procedure only takes about one hour.
